We Dug Deep For Crewe

We Dug Deep For Crewe

Gary Johnson has praised the players for digging deep to ensure the victory over Crewe.

Speaking to reporters following the game, the manager Johnson said he pleased with how everybody dug in, and picked out the performance of Marek Stech between the sticks as Crewe certainly made a battle of it.

'It was a fantastic victory, but it was important. The players will need a break mentally in the next week, we put them through the mill.'

Western Gazette Johnson also explained that it was important that Yeovil put ourselves in either third or fourth place to ensure home advantage in the second leg of the play offs so the fans can play their part in helping us finish strongly.

'You have to get your away leg first and then have your home leg knowing exactly what you have got to do.'

Tactically Johnson believes it's key, but of course he knows you can't be too disappointed if it happens because at the end of the day the play offs are 180 minutes long and you have two chances to get it right.

At the moment the squad for Bury could also be down ultimately to who is fit following knocks to Byron Webster, Nathan Ralph and Angelo Balanta, who for now at least, join Matt Dolan and Dan Burn on the sidelines.

Hopefully the injury pressure will ease over the coming days.
