New Deal Was A No Brainer

New Deal Was A No Brainer

Gary Johnson has said that taking Yeovil from the Conference into the Championship and then not signing a new deal would be like going to the moon and not getting off.

Speaking to BBC Somerset our gaffer said.

'We needed to keep the momentum going. It's something we all wanted to be a part of. Me and my staff wanted to take Yeovil into this next campaign and the support we've had has been fantastic. We've taken this club from the Conference to the Championship and it would be silly to walk away from that.'

Despite knowing he'll have one of the smallest budgets in the second tier of football next season, Johnson just relishes the challenge and he's not going to be downhearted about what he hasn't got, he wants to inspire the players he does have to want more than simply survival over the coming term.
