Grant Turned Down Ipswich For Yeovil Move
New Signing Joel Grant has revealed that he turned down a move to Ipswich before signing for Yeovil.
The 25 year old told the Western Gazette that he met up with Mick McCarthy as he discussed a move to Ipswich and although he was pleased with what he had to say, and he described him as an 'excellent manager' he feels it was a better fit at Yeovil, especially as they'd expressed an interest from the beginning.
'I know it's going to be tough for everyone, but we will all give it a good go and that's something I want to be part of - trying to keep Yeovil in the Championship. It was the work ethic that attracted me, as well as the fact they earned promotion last season and the manager.
He goes on to say that having spoken with Gary Johnson he reminded him of Gareth Ainsworth, he's former gaffer at Wycombe, and they both appear to have the same work ethic which he knows has improved his game over the last few years.
