Fontaine Will Start On Merit

Fontaine Will Start On Merit

Gary Johnson has said that Liam Fontaine will earn his place on merit after joining us from Bristol City on loan.

Speaking to the BBC the gaffer said of the 27 year old.

'I'm always worked well with Liam and he's never let me down. We heard City were willing to let him go out and we need a bit of competition. He's going to have to work hard and get in on merit.'

Johnson adds that it's about Fontaine settling in at the moment, adjusting to the team and gaining some confidence rather than feeling under pressure to immediately perform.

His experience of the league should also be a boost.
