Loan Stars Keen On Glovers Future
The Glovers have been boosted by the news that both Ishmael Miller and Joe Ralls have pledged their future to the club, as long as the clubs that own them allow this to happen.
Miller is now back with Nottingham Forest and Ralls with Cardiff City after their loans expired on New Year's Day, but moves are already well underway to try and bring them back to Huish Park for the remainder of the season.
Gary Johnson has spoken in The Western Gazette over the weekend to say that both have informed the club that they want to come back and help with the SkyBet Championship survival bid.
Ralls returning is something we have a very good chance of but the problem with Miller is that Nottingham Forest would prefer to sell, and maybe some clubs might show an interest beyond our means? Nothing's ruled in our out but Johnson knows they want to return it's just a case of making it happen.
'They're both still out there. It just the politics of their clubs and the situations with their clubs. Both have told us they would like to be part of our season.
'Obviously Forest and Ishmael have got to wait and see if there are any offers for him because he could be leaving there.
'I'm sure Cardiff think it would be better for Joe to be having the experience of games. We will have to wait and see.
'They're certainly not definite no's yet but they're certainly not definite yeses. They're both still open at this moment in time.'
I'm confident when it comes to Ralls, and I'd like to see him in our midfield again for the remainder of the season. Miller hasn't really lived up to the expectations that so many of him had from the early years of his career, as much as interest could be there I'm not sure that too many will show the interest to want to buy him on a permanent basis in January so I think we have a chance with him.
I like the 60/40 odds that are meant to see these deals happening in our favour though.
