Saints Midfielder Linked With Glovers

Saints Midfielder Linked With Glovers

A number of our summer transfer targets would be dependant on what Division we're playing in next season, our budgetary constraints will always play a part but staying in the SkyBet Championship will clearly make securing some of these a little easy both in financial terms as well as footballing ones.

St Mirren's highly rated Kenny McLean is one that Sky Sports reports are saying could come to Huish Park in the summer.

Glasgow Rangers, Leeds, Blackburn, Huddersfield and Ipswich, as well as us, are all looking at the 22 year old who will be coming to the end of his contract in the summer and looks likely to be moving on.

Compensation would be paid to St Mirren if he does leave.

The amount paid would depend on what country he ends up in as coming across the border into England would earn them £350,000 but it wouldn't be as high under a tribunal should he join childhood supported team, and a team he was a youngster with, Rangers.

Others might be more appealing to McLean, if we stay in the SkyBet Championship, but if our ambition could be sold to him it's not to say that if Gary Johnson does want to sign the midfielder that it's out of the question we won't be able to.
