Ayling Named Player Of The Year

Ayling Named Player Of The Year

In some ways it'll be a season that Luke Ayling, and most at the club, will be happy to see the back off but it was a first season at SkyBet Championship level for him and many others so it was one to stick in the mind in that respect.

Being relegated was a disappointment, but not really unexpected if we're honest, but picking up the Player of the Year, being among four awards that he won, makes it one that Ayling will remember.

He won the Green and White Supporters Club Player of the Season, The Bobby Hamilton Young Player of the Year, The Away Travel Club Player of the Year and the DSA Player of the Year awards.

The other winners were.

Western Gazette Player of the Year: Joe Edwards
Andy Stone Memorial Trophy: James Hayter
Cary Glovers Player of the Year: Byron Webster
Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust Player of the Year: Joe Edwards

Is Ayling going to be with The Glovers next season?

That's a question we'll get a better answer to over the summer. Reports are saying that he could well be lured away with SkyBet Championship clubs interested in keeping him at that level.

Hopefully Ayling can be among those that stay but I'd not b begrudge him if he did move on.
