Latvian And Reid Uncertainty

If we end up at 'Wincanton Races' this summer as part of our pre season plans then you'll know that the finances are incredibly tight at Huish Park.

We know that funds are tight anyway but just how tight the budget is will become clearer if our proposed pre season visit to Latvia isn't able to go ahead and as Johnson joked in The Western Morning News about going to Wincanton Races for pre season.

A visit to Latvia was first proposed late last year.

This came about when Latvia, coached by The Glovers manager between 1999 and 2001, came to Huish Park for a friendly. As Johnson still has close ties with the Latvian national side this was something that was arranged to benefit all parties during the international break.

A visit to the former Soviet state, as with most things at our club, depends on how far the budget can stretch.

Reuben Reid, one of those that we released this week, looked as though he would be signing a permanent contract with Plymouth Argyle but that isn't so certain now after another report also in The Western Morning News.

It could well be that Reid ends up at Plymouth Argyle's SkyBet League 2 rivals Portsmouth as they are reported as being rivals for the strikers signature.
