Madden Will Get A Warm Return
Manager Gary Johnson has said he still loves Paddy Madden and he's sure he'll get a good return by all at the club when we face him in the Scunthorpe games this season.
The Republic of Ireland international joined us from Carlisle two years ago and scored 23 goals in our promotion winning season, finishing as the League's Top scorer, but then fell out of form and favour - with a reported bust up between the two - moving onto Scunthorpe in January of last season.
Speaking to the Western Gazette Johnson said that there was definitely no bad blood between them, and he was looking forward to seeing him return to Huish Park for the first time since moving on, when Scunthorpe visit on August 23rd.
'I'm sure Paddy will be looking forward to coming back to Huish Park, just as I'm looking forward to going back to Bristol City. He had a successful time in League One with us and everyone at Yeovil still loves him, including me. I'm sure he will get a good reception because he was great for us during that season.'
Things may have gone a little sour at the end with his loss of form, and the issues that did seem to spill over between him and the gaffer, but there's no doubting the part he played in helping us to get promotion in the first place and no doubt that will be acknowledged on his return.
Sometimes things like this happen in football and you just have to move past them, and it certainly sounds like our gaffer has.
