Nugent Confirmation Soon?
Manager Gary Johnson has said that the loan deal for Cardiff's Ben Nugent is practically done, but it can't be announced until it's completely done.
Speculation linking us with the Cardiff defender has been ongoing for a while, and it's now suggested that only international clearance is holding up the announcement of his move.
Speaking to the Western Daily Press our gaffer admitted that permanent deals were now done in reality, and he was turning his mind to the loan market for further options, and obviously 20 year old Nugent formed one of those options.
'I think we are close. All parties have agreed, but from the club's official point of view we can't say it's happened until it's happened. Both clubs are in conversation at the moment, both clubs have agreed, and it's just a matter of getting all the paperwork done so he can come to us on loan.'
Johnson goes on to say that obviously he knows the lad and his family well as his dad, Richard, played under the gaffer at Kettering and obviously played for Yeovil in the past as well, so he's known the family for many a year.
'I can remember Ben as a nine or ten year old smashing up my living room playing football as a little kid. I've always been interested in his career. If it all comes off I'll be really happy to have him at our club, he had a fantastic year at Cardiff under Malky Mackay in the Championship when they got promoted.'
