Glovers 0 Leyton Orient 3 - Report
December 29th 2014. 19:45
Forget Manchester United as that, as much as we want to enjoy it, is the least of our priorities at the moment as The Glovers end the year rooted to the foot of the SkyBet League 1 table after another defeat.
Relegation rivals Leyton Orient on the other hand go into 2015 in good spirits as a crushing 3-0 win at Huish Park on Monday that moved them out of the SkyBet League 1 relegation zone.
Our latest defeat, we've only won once at home in the league this season, leaves us in serious relegation trouble and looking successive relegations in the face unless something changes and fast!
We didn't have a bad first half but weren't really able to create the clear cut openings we needed, Simon Gillett and James Hayter had what you would call half chances but neither could take them.
Leyton Orient though scored with their first real attack of the half when Bradley Pritchard's cross into the box was headed home by Chris Dagnall to give them the lead 10 minutes before half time.
A second goal was being threatened in the second half, Ben Nugent cleared another Dagnall effort off the line with Jed Steer keeping out Pritchard's effort from range but the second eventually came when Kevin Lisbie followed up an effort that Steer could only knock out to him.
With time and space on his side Dean Cox was able to add another 5 minutes from time to see us end a pretty miserable year on a low.
We'll have to show some improvement in the second half of the season or the first relegation that we had suffered in our Football League history last season will swiftly be followed by our second.
Manchester United aren't likely to be too worried about coming to Huish Park on Sunday, at this moment in time we might have to worry about how heavy this defeat will be!
